Job Summary

Senior Geotechnical Engineer role within WSP’s London Geotechnical team. You’ll perform ground investigations planning, interpret site data, design foundations and basements, assess ground movement for tunnels and other structures, and generate GIRs and interpretive monitoring reports. Strong analytical skills, knowledge of soil mechanics, and experience with Plaxis are highly valued in a collaborative, site-focused environment.

Job Function: Solutions Engineering & Sales Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare and review reports including desk studies and site investigation specifications
•Interpret site investigations and produce ground investigation reports (GIR)
•Design foundations (pad, raft, piled raft, piles) and detailed basement design
•Conduct ground movement assessments for tunnels and related structures using Plaxis 2D/3D
•Produce interpretive monitoring reports and contribute to project design documentation

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering
•Previous experience in geotechnical design and reporting
•Strong knowledge of theoretical soil mechanics
•Numerical analysis experience would be beneficial
•Plaxis ability would be preferred; previous role experience is essential
