Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and grow a team spanning security analysts, detection engineers, and threat intelligence practitioners, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and retention.
  • •Run security operations end to end: alert handling, shift coverage, on-call rotation, escalation quality, incident assignment, and detection backlog prioritization.
  • •Serve as incident commander for most security incidents and partner with the VP of Information Security on severe incidents and executive communication.
  • •Automate Tier-1 triage and expanding Tier-2 workflows using an incident runbook program, so routine work resolves without human touch and escalations are fully assembled cases.
  • •Own detection engineering and threat intelligence: run detections as a product lifecycle, stand up intelligence-to-detection/hunt-hypothesis programs, and protect authority boundaries in an AI-native SOC shift.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years in security operations, incident response, or detection engineering, including 2+ years directly managing a team of security analysts or detection engineers.
  • •Experience running a SOC or detection function at a SaaS/cloud-native company, ideally with SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001 compliance calendars.
  • •Hands-on detection engineering credibility: writing, testing, tuning, and retiring detections, treating detection content as code in version control with CI validation.
  • •Experience owning a managed detection relationship (MDR or MSSP).
  • •Direct experience automating SOC workflows via SOAR, runbook automation, or LLM/agent-based triage and enrichment, with measurable outcomes.
