Lead regional DS/ML engineering projects to design and scale real-time personalization pipelines (retrieval, ranking, embeddings) for Mercado Libre. Key Responsibilities

•Lead a regional team of DS Engineers and Software Engineers, driving ownership, mentoring, and best practices.
•Design and evolve retrieval and ranking pipelines for real-time personalization systems.
•Actively participate in development by writing code, performing code reviews, and removing high-complexity blockers.
•Define the team's roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and translate complex problems into actionable specifications.
•Incorporate GenAI tools to accelerate development, analysis, and technical quality of the personalization pipeline.

Key Requirements

•Experience leading ML/Data Science teams with end-to-end production deployments.
•Strong background in designing retrieval, ranking and recommendation systems at scale.
•Proficiency with embeddings, vector search and distributed architectures.
•Strong engineering practices including CI/CD, testing, observability and monitoring.
•Hands-on, able to translate complex problems into scalable technical solutions.
