Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan and deliver consistently excellent, engaging Performing Arts lessons using effective pedagogy to develop performance, creativity, collaboration, communication, technical understanding, and critical evaluation.
  • •Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour, and participation, maintaining a safe, inclusive, purposeful learning environment.
  • •Use assessment effectively to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress, and implement timely intervention.
  • •Develop secondary Performing Arts curriculum planning, productions, practical resourcing, assessment and moderation, and prepare for future vocational and post-16 pathways.
  • •Build relationships with students, colleagues, and families, contribute to school life and culture through pastoral/enrichment activities, and promote and safeguard student welfare following school policies.

Key Requirements

  • •A recognised teaching qualification and a degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Dance, or a closely related subject.
  • •Experience teaching Performing Arts at secondary level and GCSE, with experience delivering BTEC Performing Arts desirable.
  • •A proven record of securing strong student outcomes.
  • •Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management, and communication skills.
  • •Ambition, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset to contribute to a growing secondary school.
