Job Summary

Lead the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department for the Crete location, overseeing regulatory programs spanning worker safety, environmental compliance, Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Program (RMP), security, and water/wastewater operations. Manage EHS systems and the EHS team, ensure required training, drive continuous improvement through investigations and corrective actions, and maintain ISO-aligned documentation, metrics, and KPI compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage location EHS programs and management systems to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
•Lead and develop the EHS team through delegation, planning, policy/procedure administration, and follow-up.
•Ensure required training is conducted per regulatory and Smithfield EHS systems.
•Maintain timely regulatory reporting, performance documentation, and ISO EHS program conformance, including metric reporting.
•Lead investigations, implement corrective actions, and communicate action plans based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

•Bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related field (or equivalent) plus 8+ years of related experience.
•2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership.

•Comfort working long hours, weekends, and staying on-call when required.
•Occasional travel and strong English communication for drafting reports, correspondence, and procedures.
