Job Summary

Design thermal products such as multi-layer insulation and protection to meet mechanical system requirements for government and commercial satellite programs. You will develop and document mechanical, fluid, and thermal requirements, create and modify 3-D CAD-based component and installation designs, and run analyses and testing to validate system performance. Coordinate with suppliers, improve design tools and processes, and investigate emerging technologies for future thermal product concepts.

•Develop, integrate, and document mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.
•Develop, maintain, and modify mechanical and fluid system, component, and installation designs using 3-D CAD tools and other design methods.
•Perform, integrate, and document mechanical, fluid, and thermal analyses and test results to validate and verify requirements and specifications.
•Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinate with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals.
•Develop new design/analysis processes and tools and investigate emerging technologies for future product concepts.

Salary: USD 111,350 - 150,650 annually

Key Requirements

•Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship as a condition of employment.
•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
•5+ years of experience in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
•3+ years of experience with structural design or the design of mechanical sub-systems or components.
•3+ years of experience with subsystem engineering, including harness, thermal protection system, and/or prop feedlines/layout subsystems.
