Key Responsibilities

  • •Bring quantum dot devices from lab bench to operational readiness, including wire bonding, packaging, chip mounting, and custom PCB design.
  • •Build and maintain cryogenic measurement setups (e.g., dilution refrigerators, wiring, line testing) and develop procedures for cooldowns and thermal cycling.
  • •Run device tuning and characterization to identify quantum dot formation, tune gate voltages, and extract stability diagrams; diagnose sources of limits like charge noise or tunnel coupling.
  • •Automate calibration by encoding expert tuning into software routines that close the loop and recover without a physicist in the room.
  • •Maintain system performance and control stacks: diagnose drift/fidelity degradation, define monitoring and recovery, and write/adapt control software for lab instrumentation.
