Key Responsibilities

  • •Support Fraud & Safety Operations with proactive defenses and reactive interventions to help keep the community safe.
  • •Advise on user Customer Support escalations, including analysis, related to Airbnb policies and policy enforcement.
  • •Assess, manage, and provide legal advice on global legal risks, life safety and law enforcement operations, and related internal investigations.
  • •Advise and drive cross-functional projects with business partners across Fraud & Safety, Global Crisis Management, Community Support, Communications, Community Policy, Public Policy, Privacy, and Hosting.
  • •Help manage team resources to align with business priorities and objectives.

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. with strong academic credentials and demonstrated success as a senior in-house lawyer, law firm partner, or commensurate federal or state government position.
  • •Member of the California Bar or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel.
  • •12–15 years of experience in litigation, risk mitigation, fraud and safety, and law enforcement operations, including global policy application.
  • •Outstanding analytical, oral, and writing skills, with the ability to distill complex legal issues for business audiences in novel or ambiguous situations.
  • •Strong urgency and a pragmatic, business-oriented approach that balances legal risk and business reward.
