Key Responsibilities

  • •Handle assigned claims promptly and effectively, including complex and catastrophic losses, within delegated authority.
  • •Determine proper policy coverages and apply standard methodologies to conclude assigned cases per company guidelines.
  • •Open, close, and adjust reserves to ensure reserve adequacy and follow file conferencing procedures.
  • •Maintain knowledge of insurance lines, guidelines, policy changes, and local repair procedures and market pricing.
  • •Act for the Claims Manager, mentor less experienced associates, partner with SIU and Subrogation to identify fraud/subrogation opportunities, and manage claim follow-ups using systems.

Key Requirements

  • •5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
  • •Proficiency with Xactimate and the ability to write your own estimates.
  • •Experience handling claims from start to finish, including investigation and settlement.
  • •Strong customer service competency plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • •Successful completion of required claims certification schools/courses; obtain Xactimate Level 1 within one year and Level 2 within two years.
