Key Responsibilities

  • •Own automation, controls, and electrical scope for power generation assets and plant electrical systems, from control philosophy through commissioning and reliability in compliance with relevant standards.
  • •Lead controls scope for mechanical and electrical balance-of-plant and supporting utilities (e.g., fuel gas, HVAC, fire protection, compressed air, cooling water, raw water intake, demineralization, wastewater treatment, industrial gas systems).
  • •Build, mentor, and manage automation and controls engineers and technicians; scale the team and systems as capacity and AI compute load grow.
  • •Review and approve control philosophy and engineering documentation (I/O lists, control narratives, single-line diagrams, schematics, cause-and-effect diagrams, control panel designs) and drive standardized DCS/PLC/SCADA architecture and practices.
  • •Own field commissioning (loop checks, functional and protection testing, start-up, hand-off) and drive root-cause investigations and reliability improvements; coordinate with OEMs and contractors to keep scope integrated and on schedule.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related engineering field.
  • •8+ years of experience in automation and controls engineering with direct experience on industrial power generation projects (gas turbine, combined cycle, or steam systems preferred).
  • •3+ years of experience managing or leading a team of engineers (and preferably technicians).
  • •Hands-on experience with DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms used in power generation or heavy industry, including IEC 61131 programming and industrial networking/protocols like Modbus and DNP3.
  • •Knowledge of utility-scale and low-voltage electrical power systems including switchgear, protection, and metering, with the ability to review engineering documentation and schematics.
