Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide legal support on cryptoasset, e-money, and payment services regulatory requirements, including account-access and operational compliance questions.
  • •Support EU/UK licensing and registration workstreams by compiling application materials and coordinating with outside counsel.
  • •Provide regulatory support on corporate transactions and structural changes affecting EU/UK entities, including change-of-control notifications and client migrations.
  • •Manage day-to-day relationships with regulators for licensed entities through supervisory correspondence and regulatory engagement.
  • •Translate complex regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiCA/UK Cryptoasset Regime, CBI/FCA rulebooks, AML/CTF, DORA, outsourcing, e-money/payment regulation) into pragmatic, actionable business guidance.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified lawyer (Solicitor/Barrister of England & Wales, Irish Solicitor/Barrister, or equivalent EU Member State admission).
  • •10+ years’ post-qualification experience in financial services regulatory law, independently owning BAU regulatory workstreams.
  • •Direct experience engaging with regulators, including notifications, information requests, and supervisory correspondence (e.g., CBI, FCA, or equivalent).
  • •Substantive experience advising on MiCA or the UK Cryptoasset Regime (one regime sufficient).
  • •Substantive experience with e-money and payment services regulation in the EU or UK (account-access and open banking obligations), plus AML/CTF experience.
