Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop customer-facing Managed Database products for MySQL, PostgreSQL, Caching, Kafka, OpenSearch, and MongoDB.
  • •Serve as a subject matter expert on MySQL, guiding performance optimizations and administrative issues.
  • •Develop and maintain globally distributed systems running in Kubernetes and author/iterate on technical designs.
  • •Build APIs in Go and support integration across the DigitalOcean stack using technologies such as Temporal, gRPC, REST, Docker, Kafka, and Grafana.
  • •Provide last-line support for DBaaS products, collaborate with agile teams, and mentor engineers through best practices and code reviews.

  • •4+ years as a subject-matter expert with MySQL databases, including performance optimization and administrative guidance.
  • •Experience building and maintaining large distributed systems with resilience engineering, fault tolerance, and failure domains for database backends.
  • •Strong technical software development skills, including concurrency patterns in Go.
