Job Summary

Deliver client-facing data protection solutions as part of Avanade’s security practice, working with Avanade and Accenture teams on projects ranging from medium to large global enterprises. Design and implement Zero Trust architectures and predominately Microsoft data protection capabilities focused on Microsoft 365 security. Lead deployments of Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender products, build governance and DLP strategies, perform risk assessments, and guide internal teams while staying current on threats and Microsoft updates.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and implement Zero Trust architectures using Microsoft security solutions with a focus on data protection.
•Lead deployment and configuration of Microsoft Purview (data governance, compliance, Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Inside Risk Management).
•Deploy and configure Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Identity, and Cloud Apps, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud for cloud security posture management.
•Develop and maintain data classification, labelling, and retention policies, and develop DSPM strategies for AI systems.
•Conduct data protection risk assessments and provide guidance on compliance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and privacy controls.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience with Microsoft Security technologies including Microsoft Purview, Defender, Sentinel, and Entra ID.
•Hands-on experience with DLP policy design, migration, and refinement.
•Strong understanding of data protection regulations including Privacy Act 1988, GDPR, CCPA, DPA 2018, ISO 27001, NIST, and EU AI Act.
•Familiarity with AI security concepts including DSPM, model governance, and data lineage.
•Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
