Job Summary

Provide environmental leadership and compliance oversight for the Hermosa Project, ensuring operations meet applicable permits, regulatory requirements, company standards, and sustainability commitments. Serve as an environmental subject matter expert partnering with operations, construction, technical services, and project leadership to proactively manage environmental risks. Lead and support environmental programs, audits, monitoring, reporting, and data management (including EarthSoft EQuIS), while mentoring teams and maintaining strong relationships with regulators and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits, and company standards across the Hermosa Project.
•Provide technical leadership and guidance on environmental compliance, permitting, risk management, and environmental stewardship initiatives.
•Implement and support environmental programs aligned with South32 policies and standards, including managing environmental aspects of change management and permit-to-work reviews.
•Oversee environmental monitoring, data collection, studies, and consultant activities; manage environmental data systems including EarthSoft EQuIS for reporting and compliance tracking.
•Lead and participate in environmental audits, inspections, and compliance assessments, including development and tracking of corrective actions; prepare regulatory submissions and environmental reports.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, natural resources, geology, biology, chemistry, or a related discipline.
•6+ years of progressive environmental compliance experience in mining, industrial operations, energy, infrastructure, or related industries.
•Demonstrated experience managing environmental compliance programs and regulatory requirements.
•Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
•Ability to pass background checks and drug screening, and willingness to work underground and at construction sites in remote outdoor environments.
