Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate with team members to develop new ideas and concepts based on input from product managers and chief engineers.
  • •Research and design mechanism parts, sub-assemblies, and working units to support power tool functions.
  • •Explore and evaluate manufacturing processes to improve current and future designs for better DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
  • •Analyze design integrity and functionality using mechanical theory calculations, CAE, dimensional stack-up, and DFMEA/PFMEA tools.
  • •Develop prototypes, conduct prototype evaluation and testing, and maintain testing records from concept through production; manage engineering drawing/change notice records and coordinate with program office, operations, suppliers, and test/reliability teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
  • •Over 5 years of experience designing or implementing mechanical products, with power tools experience preferred.
  • •Strong knowledge of mechanical design theory and applications, with a creative, problem-solving mindset and ability to propose new concepts for design and manufacturing.
  • •Experience with plastics and manufacturing processes such as machining, powdered metal parts, stamping, casting, and heat treatment of ferrous materials.
  • •Proficiency in 3D/2D drawings and design calculations; CATIA preferred, plus familiarity with GD&T, dimensional stack-up, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
