Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage strategic sourcing for upstream commodities and services to ensure maximum value add and operational/contractual compliance.
  • •Lead the definition, improvement, and rollout of category strategies, including spend/cost optimization and value delivery plans.
  • •Create, manage, and govern strategic supplier relationships and high-value strategic commodity/service contracts (including amendments and price adjustments).
  • •Monitor vendor performance and contractual compliance, initiate corrective actions, and manage price escalation controls and contract registers.
  • •Develop and contribute to TCO models, benchmark commodity performance, and mitigate supply chain risk while advancing local procurement and black economic empowerment.

Key Requirements

  • •5-10 years of relevant supply chain experience with experience in both Direct and Indirect category management and sourcing.
  • •Demonstrated understanding of strategic sourcing techniques and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis (or aptitude for full training).
  • •Experience in mining/plant/maintenance or downstream environments, including technical knowledge for a mining/procurement category area.
  • •Background in legal and contractual terms and conditions, including supplier negotiation and contracts management.
  • •Experience leading and managing people, with strong ability to engage, network, and influence senior management and large suppliers.
