Job Summary

Originate residential first mortgage loans for outside referrals, owning each loan from application through closing. Build and manage referral relationships, maintain expertise in mortgage products and underwriting/closing procedures, and complete applications using Fannie Mae Form 1003. Use loan systems to obtain rates and credit reports, transmit loan packages, manage the pipeline through closing, and provide timely updates while meeting management sales and cross-selling objectives.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, and professional/personal contacts) and meet mortgage loan sales and cross-selling objectives.
•Assume overall responsibility for residential mortgage loans from application to closing.
•Complete mortgage applications using Fannie Mae Form 1003 and use systems for daily rates, credit reports, Loan Prospector responses, and loan transmission to LOMAS.
•Collect required applicant documentation, deliver loan packages in management time frames, and manage the pipeline through closing with required reports.
•Provide timely updates to branches and/or applicants, maintain high customer service levels, and attend required Consumer Lending meetings.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent (four-year college degree preferred).
•Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines and residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
•Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and teamwork/customer service skills.
•Basic sales technique skills and S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at the time of employment.
