Key Responsibilities

  • •Follow safe operating practices and procedures and comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in a shop environment.
  • •Determine required parts, coordinate with the Shop Parts Department, and work with the Service Writer to assess customer needs.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle/trailer systems (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical/electronic, brakes, cooling, steering, etc.) and document findings on repair orders.
  • •Maintain productivity and manage concurrent assigned tasks; maintain shop service trucks and complete required safety training and daily inspections.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination of education/certification and experience).
  • •Must successfully complete DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • •Maintain a current and valid DOT medical card (with requirements around remaining validity) and follow DOT physical requirements as needed.
  • •Must be at least 21 years or older and hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license with a Driver Qualification File; safe driving and 3 YR MVR review required.
  • •Obtain or hold required certification: ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months (and preferred ASE certifications listed in posting).
