Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare, check, and review geotechnical documents including desk studies, interpretative reports, specifications, construction drawings, and design reports.
  • •Own technical review meeting decisions and propose alternative concepts; prepare bids and proposals for internal and external clients.
  • •Provide on-the-job mentoring and own personal and professional development for junior staff.
  • •Lead geotechnical input to projects from desk study/feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design.
  • •Deliver day-to-day project responsibility ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme deliverables.

Key Requirements

  • •BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering, or BSc/MSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, Earth Science, or Geotechnical Engineering (desirable).
  • •Preferred Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) or Geologist (CGeol) status, or on track to achieve within the next year.
  • •Strong knowledge of UK and Irish ground conditions and ground investigation practices.
  • •Experience in geotechnical design (e.g., earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, slope stabilisation) with confidence using relevant design software (e.g., Slope/W, Wallap).
  • •Good knowledge of Eurocode and British/Irish Standards, plus application of CDM Regulations / Safety in Design.
