Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and build a control system to direct traffic using performance-based or cost-based routing strategies.
  • •Analyze and troubleshoot global routing-layer performance for TikTok users.
  • •Support ByteDance internal and external services on public internet topology and connectivity.
  • •Build capabilities for cross-site (cross uplink provider) traffic management on the edge network.
  • •Collaborate on maintaining edge network stability while scaling edge traffic management systems.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree (or bachelor’s degree with 3+ years) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields.
  • •Experience with DNS service.
  • •Knowledge of networking protocols including BGP, IPv4/IPv6, TCP, and UDP.
  • •Experience with networking tools such as ping, mtr, and traceroute.
  • •Knowledge of networking metrics/tools such as SNMP and sflow/netflow (and IPDB).
