Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and supervise delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care within the designated specialty.
  • •Examine patients, take histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatments, and develop comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care plans.
  • •Oversee and train junior medical staff, providing guidance and clinical supervision to specialists, GPs, and residents.
  • •Collaborate with other specialties through multidisciplinary meetings to ensure holistic patient care.
  • •Participate in rotational on-call coverage and maintain accurate documentation and compliance with DOH and hospital policies, including infection control and patient safety.
  • •Participate in clinical audits, peer review, performance management systems, and proactive risk management to improve patient outcomes.
  • •Communicate clinical information to patients and families and ensure informed consent for procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •MBBS or equivalent plus structured specialty training (e.g., board certification/fellowship) and a postgraduate qualification such as MD, MS, or DNB (generally required).
  • •3-7 years of post-specialty clinical experience in a recognized multidisciplinary setting; experience gaps over two years require specific DOH approval or return-to-practice.
  • •Eligibility of or a valid Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH) license to practice in Abu Dhabi, including PSV, DOH exam (unless exempt), and a good standing certificate.
  • •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • •Fluency in English and Arabic is required (other languages are a distinct asset).
