Job Summary

Maintain and enhance the performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance of CAE full-flight simulators and training devices at the Sydney Training Centre in St Peters. Troubleshoot faults, perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and performance checks, and execute Qualification/Approval Test Guide procedures. Lead shift-based technical activities, mentor junior technicians, support simulator upgrades and hardware/software modifications, keep maintenance records, and ensure CASA, OEM, customer, and CAE safety requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance on flight simulators and associated systems.
•Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure maximum simulator availability and reliability.
•Execute visual alignments, calibration activities, and system performance checks.
•Execute, analyse, and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) and Approval Test Guide (ATG) procedures.
•Lead and coordinate technical activities during shifts, mentor junior technicians, and support simulator upgrades, maintenance records, compliance, and logistics/parts management.

Key Requirements

•A technical trade qualification, diploma, degree, or equivalent technical training in electronics, electrical, mechanical, aviation, or a related discipline.
•Minimum of five years’ experience in simulator maintenance, aviation maintenance, defence systems, industrial automation, or a comparable technical environment.
•Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer, and network-based systems.
•Experience using test equipment and diagnostic tools.
•Demonstrated expertise in at least one major simulator system (motion systems, visual systems, aircraft systems, or computer/network infrastructure).
