Job Summary

Lead geotechnical engineering work for transportation, power, property/buildings, and mining projects. Collect and analyze field, subsurface, and GIS data; ensure quality control; and produce accurate reports, visuals, and engineering recommendations. Support subsurface investigation programs, slope stability, foundation/retaining wall and ground improvement analyses, and coordinate with regulators, clients, and subcontractors while assisting junior staff under QA/QC expectations.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze site and subsurface data (soil/rock samples, surveys, GIS, maps) to support project development, design, and construction.
•Maintain quality control standards and produce accurate geotechnical engineering analyses and documentation.
•Perform geotechnical engineering work for site conditions, including subsurface investigations, foundation/settlement/erosion analyses, groundwater, geohazards, and slope stability to meet standards and permits.
•Use modeling and design techniques to develop requirements and future-ready geotechnical design solutions.
•Collaborate cross-functionally and provide technical guidance to junior staff, including supporting Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) and interacting professionally with regulators, clients, and subcontractors.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or closely related).
•Minimum 5 years of relevant post-education engineering experience with geotechnical design experience.
•Professional Engineer license in Arizona, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
•Technical knowledge of geotechnical design (e.g., deep/shallow foundations, slope stability, earthquake engineering, retaining walls, earth retention, rock mechanics, settlement, dewatering).
•Experience coordinating with agency regulators and understanding applicable codes, permits, remediation, and compliance requirements.
