Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and evaluate opportunities to acquire land or operating and drilling rights.
  • •Negotiate, write, review, and amend complex land agreements (including farm-in/farm-outs and joint operating agreements).
  • •Work with land administration to maintain accurate land records and stay current on regulatory provisions and land values.
  • •Evaluate acquisition targets with integrated geology and engineering teams and make recommendations on acquisitions and divestitures.
  • •Conduct land research and due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, and trades, including title curative support and possible government hearings.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of experience in land management related to subsurface rights and operations.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Land/Energy Management or a related field.
  • •Experience reviewing, evaluating, and negotiating complex land agreements (e.g., farm-in/farm-outs, term assignments, joint operating agreements).
  • •Strong verbal and written communication plus negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and strong attention to detail.
  • •AAPL certification preferred.
  • •Working knowledge of unconventional/conventional resource plays preferred.
