Key Responsibilities

  • •Undertake maintenance and repair tasks within established guidelines and provide on-site support during normal business hours.
  • •Troubleshoot and conduct tests when standard procedures and precedents aren’t available to determine necessary actions.
  • •Operate and maintain heating systems, including hot-water and steam boilers, water-treatment systems, circulating pumps, and associated controls.
  • •Operate and maintain air conditioning systems, including chillers, circulating pumps, cooling towers, fans, motors, controls, and water-treatment systems; disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, reassemble, and return systems to service.
  • •Maintain laboratory infrastructure systems and perform routine maintenance and groundskeeping, including inspection, equipment repairs, storage cleanup, touch-up painting, and grounds maintenance such as mowing and snow/ice removal.

Key Requirements

  • •US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • •High School Diploma.
  • •2+ years of training or experience in AC/heat systems, lab maintenance, and general maintenance.
  • •Ability to perform moderate and sometimes strenuous outdoor physical labor in all seasons, including adverse weather conditions.
  • •Willingness to follow PPE and occupational health requirements, including participation in the Center occupational health program and possible medical clearance to wear a respirator.
