Key Responsibilities

  • •Undertaking usability evaluations in line with Human Factors standards for equipment/layout/HMIs to demonstrate systems support operators to perform tasks efficiently.
  • •Conducting Project Ergonomics Surveys including observing railway signalling tasks, level crossing control, measuring workload, impact assessments and Training Needs Analysis, and presenting data to design activities and clients.
  • •Producing the Concept of Operations to support new/modified station/depot design, and conducting Access & Maintenance assessments, room layout and workstation design including Control room design.
  • •Working with project teams to assess Accessibility and Design for Inclusion.
  • •Eliciting Ergonomics requirements and delivering user needs with project teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of experience.
  • •Experience of applying ergonomics techniques and processes in the rail industry.
  • •Knowledge of the railway industry, railway infrastructure and operational roles.
  • •Previous Human Factors Experience.
  • •Experience of managing and growing a team.
