Job Summary

Drive strategic supply network development and cost management for product hardware across its lifecycle. Lead supplier selection, supplier development planning, and manufacturing BOM development—partnering with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to ramp production. Manage CAPEX through NPI, perform value-stream mapping and BOM risk assessments with alternate sourcing, oversee component qualifications, and run cost engineering activities to converge cost curves and maximize total cost of ownership.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct supplier selection for a specific product using an approved supplier list.
•Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development, including concept scoping, trade-off/trade table work, should-cost/clean-sheet models, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs.
•Develop and consolidate a manufacturing BOM with Quality and Manufacturing, ramping production internally and with suppliers with flexibility.
•Manage CAPEX throughout NPI; conduct value-stream mapping to optimize lead time and flexibility.
•Lead cost engineering and BOM risk assessment activities, including alternate sourcing, component qualifications, and commonality/supplier rationalization. Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation.

Travel: Medium travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 120,000 - 159,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field.
•5+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
•Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
•Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
•Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret clearance. (Ability to relocate to be onsite in Morrisville, NC if not already local.)
