Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct supplier selection for a specific product using an approved supplier list.
  • •Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development, including concept scoping, trade-off/trade table work, should-cost/clean-sheet models, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs.
  • •Develop and consolidate a manufacturing BOM with Quality and Manufacturing, ramping production internally and with suppliers with flexibility.
  • •Manage CAPEX throughout NPI; conduct value-stream mapping to optimize lead time and flexibility.
  • •Lead cost engineering and BOM risk assessment activities, including alternate sourcing, component qualifications, and commonality/supplier rationalization. Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field.
  • •5+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
  • •Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
  • •Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • •Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret clearance. (Ability to relocate to be onsite in Morrisville, NC if not already local.)
