Job Summary

Lead analytical structural support for Cold Section Engineering hardware used in military gas-turbine compressors, including rotors, airfoils, cases, and kinematics systems. Validate structural integrity using FE/classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue, damage tolerance, and containment, while covering testing and data reduction. Provide technical guidance to engineers and outsourced tasks, document results for management and external customers, and coordinate on multidisciplinary teams. Travel: 10%.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide analytical support across detailed design, validation, certification, manufacturing, and operational service for Cold Section hardware.
•Perform strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, and kinematic/optimization analyses using FE and classical methods.
•Cover validation testing (engine and rig) and perform data reduction.
•Support in-service field investigations and participate in multi-discipline teams to balance durability, performance, cost, and weight requirements.
•Provide leadership oversight and technical guidance for less experienced engineers and outsourced tasks; document and present results.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience OR an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
•Background in structural analysis using FEM for stress/deflection, vibration, and analyses such as LCF, HCF, fracture mechanics, or kinematics.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
•U.S. citizenship is required to be eligible for a security clearance.
