Key Responsibilities

  • •Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community and ensure a welcoming, high-signal experience worldwide.
  • •Partner with community leaders and internal stakeholders to evolve channel strategy, community guidelines, and engagement programming.
  • •Develop scalable moderation and support workflows, including triage, escalation paths, response playbooks, and Code of Conduct enforcement.
  • •Coach and support moderators/community champions; recruit and onboard new moderators as the community grows.
  • •Use community insights and engagement/health metrics to improve outcomes and close the loop with Product, Marketing, and Support.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of experience in digital community management, online engagement, or community program management in a global/distributed environment.
  • •Own day-to-day operations for a large online community (Slack/Discord/forum), including moderation, member support, and community health.
  • •Build and improve moderation and support workflows (triage, escalation paths, response playbooks) including Code of Conduct enforcement.
  • •Strong written communication and facilitation skills to respond empathetically, de-escalate issues, and encourage productive conversation.
  • •Experience using community tooling and analytics (e.g., Slack workflows, Common Room) to track engagement and drive improvement.
