Key Responsibilities

•Supports and adheres to hospital initiatives, policies and procedures
•Assists with consultant staff to ensure adequate medical coverage within the Division
•Attends divisional meetings and engages in reporting and investigation of untoward incidents
•Under supervision, diagnoses and treats patients per established standards of best practice
•Supervises junior medical staff and ensures coordinated care
•Documents clinical information clearly and timely and reviews investigation results to adjust treatment
•Collaborates with other specialties and participates in multi-disciplinary meetings
•Prepares patients for procedures including informed consent
•Participates in on-call coverage as required
•Promotes quality improvement and clinical research

Key Requirements

•Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty.
•Supervise the activities of junior medical staff and share responsibility for the care they provide.
•Comply with hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices.
•Lead ward rounds and reassess inpatients and outpatients regularly.
•Promote quality improvement initiatives, participate in audits and clinical research and publication
