Job Summary

Underwrite and analyze commercial loan requests by performing quantitative and qualitative credit analysis. Partner with commercial lending officers to assess risk for new and existing client relationships and develop loan structures that mitigate those risks. Review credit issues, obtain additional information, and prepare credit memorandums and written presentations summarizing lending opportunities with minimal turnaround time.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform quantitative and qualitative credit analysis and underwriting for commercial loan requests.
•Analyze client-specific financial statements, spreads, ratios, and relevant industry and economic risks.
•Work with loan officers to review credit issues, obtain additional information, and make outside calls as needed.
•Prepare credit memorandums summarizing lending opportunities, risks, and proposed loan structures and how they mitigate risk.
•Identify high-risk credit situations and take appropriate action to protect the bank.

Key Requirements

•College degree in business (or equivalent education/experience) with coursework in accounting, finance, and financial statement analysis; banking internship completion desired.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, industry data, and customer profiles.
•Ability to produce oral and written presentations and prepare credit memorandums.
•Ability to apply financial concepts (trends, percentages, ratios, proportions), develop projections from financial data, and make sound judgments with limited guidance.
