Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the Compliance team in Japan.
  • •Create and maintain local regulatory manuals and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • •Implement global compliance framework and policies in Japan and coordinate with regional/global compliance teams as needed.
  • •Design and execute the local compliance program, including business advisory, Code of Ethics monitoring, compliance training, and testing.
  • •Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, provide business implementation advice, prepare compliance reports for boards/senior management, and manage regulatory examinations in Japan.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in law, finance, business management or similar qualification.
  • •10+ years’ experience in the financial industry focused on asset management, in governance functions such as Legal, Compliance, Risk Management and/or Internal Audit.
  • •Solid local regulatory knowledge and experience dealing with regulators.
  • •Strong asset management business/product knowledge.
  • •People management experience preferred, with a focus on team development, mentoring, and coaching.
