Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform daily FIB lamella preparation and TEM analysis, including microstructure and chemical analysis using electron diffraction, EDS, and EELS.
  • •Provide detailed shift pass-down to ensure smooth shift transitions.
  • •Optimize existing lab procedures and contribute improvements to lab processes.
  • •Partner with process development teams to solve problems in new part/module development and product transfers.
  • •Develop and adopt advanced FIB/TEM techniques, including AI/automation approaches to improve efficiency of data acquisition and data processing.

Key Requirements

  • •Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering, Physics, or a semiconductor-related field.
  • •Strong analytical TEM expertise, including atomic-resolution STEM, EELS, and 4D-STEM.
  • •Hands-on experience with FIB sample preparation for TEM analysis.
  • •Data science skills applied to TEM workflows (data processing, automation, modeling, or machine-learning–based analysis) with programming skills using GMS scripts and/or Python.
  • •Collaborative, solution-oriented mindset for teamwork and independent work as needed.
