Job Summary

Install and terminate audiovisual and low-voltage cabling for contracted projects, including testing and troubleshooting AV equipment and network-integrated AV systems. Lead and direct installation crews on larger, more complex jobs, mentoring junior technicians and coordinating progress with the Project Manager. Interpret schematics/blueprints, manage tools and materials, support engineering/programming changes, handle site change requests, and provide client training while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform installation tasks for contracted projects, including cable pulls and terminations, system equipment setup, and rack fabrication/wiring layout.
•Lead and direct installation crews on larger projects by coordinating and reporting progress to the Project Manager to meet time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction requirements.
•Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints; test point-to-point cabling and verify system functionality, including control/DSP systems as needed.
•Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians on site, verify quality of work, and support Engineers/Programmers with minor programming changes and on-site code loading/testing.
•Track and secure tools/equipment, initiate return material authorizations with office staff, coordinate with other trades, handle on-site change requests, and perform client training while traveling to job sites.

Key Requirements

•4-6 years of audiovisual, electronics, or related industry installation experience.
•Advanced proficiency installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (e.g., HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic) and wiring methods like conduit runs and cable trays.
•Advanced understanding of AV systems and network infrastructure integration (IP-based systems, streaming, cloud-based services).
•Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints and use hand and power tools safely.
•Valid and current AVIXA CTS General Certification, plus a valid driver’s license and an MVR meeting AVI-SPL driving privileges standards.
