Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bermuda statutory close process and associated team members.
  • •Provide day-to-day oversight of Bermuda statutory financial reporting (BSTAT) for applicable regulated entities.
  • •Lead review of monthly and quarterly financial reporting journal entries and controls related to reinsurance activities and calculations supporting BSTAT reporting and other applicable bases of accounting.
  • •Coordinate across departments on quarterly financial close activities for BSTAT (including Actuarial, FP&A, Reinsurance Accounting, Investment Accounting, and Tax).
  • •Mentor, guide, and manage managerial representatives/accountants and oversee external year-end BSTAT audited financial statement filings and related regulatory submissions.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree with a recognized accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, etc.).
  • •7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in life and annuity insurance and reinsurance accounting.
  • •Experience with US GAAP and Bermuda regulatory reporting for insurance/reinsurance and life/annuity products.
  • •Experience managing team members.
  • •Strong controls background, including experience with Sarbanes-Oxley.
