Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform routine blood collection procedures, including venepuncture using vacutainer tubes, tourniquets, syringes, and butterfly needles.
  • •Collect, register, and transport diagnostic specimens, managing pre-analytical steps, and preparing/processing/labeling/storing samples per departmental procedures.
  • •Perform low-complexity laboratory tests and manage quality control, quality assurance, and safety for specimen collections and processing.
  • •Maintain compliance with JCI, CAP, and ISO 15189 guidelines, including accurate patient identification and recordkeeping.
  • •Provide technical guidance to assigned Phlebotomy students/trainees and maintain inventory of supplies.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 4 years’ experience in clinical laboratories as a licensed Laboratory Technician or Technologist.
  • •Minimum 3 years as a Laboratory Technician or Technologist in a CAP or ISO15189 environment.
  • •Functional knowledge and clinical experience in clinical laboratories, including laboratory safety and risks.
  • •Knowledge of ISO 15189/CAP/JCI standards and guidelines for quality, assurance, and safety.
  • •Ability to maintain Qatari licensing and registration as a Technologist/Phlebotomist.
