Job Summary

Civil Infrastructure Engineer (Development) role within WSP’s Development Team. You’ll contribute to concept studies, planning submissions, and multi-disciplinary design across development projects, while working with an Edinburgh-based team to develop technical capabilities and support career progression. Responsibilities include client engagement, stakeholder management, and ensuring deliverables meet budget, programme, technical standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Contribute to concept studies, strategies, and drawing packages, leading to planning applications, technical approval submissions and construction issue.
•Contribute to all types of Development projects across sectors and clients.
•Be active on several varied projects at any given time, supporting the Development Team.
•Be supported by the Edinburgh team to develop technical capabilities and support career progression.
•Engage with clients and stakeholders, liaise with design teams (internal and external) to ensure delivery of tasks to budget, programme, technical standards and legal requirements.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge of highway design, drainage strategy and design, flood risk assessment and management, utility design and planning.
•Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings.
•Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related software such as Info Drainage, Micro Drainage and PDS.
•Strong written and spoken communication skills and ability to liaise with clients, co-professionals and authorities.
•Postgraduate (or equivalent) experience and working towards Chartership or equivalent responsibility.
