Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, test, and certify structured and patch panel cabling in data centers, including fiber optics and copper cabling.
  • •Inspect and clean installed optical cabling; install and de-install network cabling and equipment as needed.
  • •Test installed cables using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe and support carrier testing of circuits.
  • •Complete Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within defined service levels and perform layer 1 troubleshooting.
  • •Support facilities and emergency recovery tasks including UPS restoral, emergency cooling restoration, and fire suppression exercises/restoration.

Key Requirements

  • •2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably including at least 1 year in a data center environment.
  • •In-depth knowledge of structured cabling, including IEEE and BICSI cabling standards.
  • •Training and ability to install, clean, measure, transmit, and receive on high-speed single-mode long-range optical connections.
  • •Experience troubleshooting layer 1 network concerns and performing cable patching procedures.
  • •Experience with Fluke Versiv Mainframe and the ability to safely lift heavy objects; willing to work nights and weekends.
