Job Summary

Originate residential first mortgage loans for branch offices and outside referrals, owning the process from application through closing. Meet mortgage sales and cross-selling objectives by focusing on CRA products and services for low- to moderate-income individuals and areas, plus nonprofit organizations. Build CRA prospect and referral relationships, run homebuyer-training seminars, manage the loan pipeline, and provide timely updates while following policies and escalating exceptions as needed. Maintain compliance and risk accountability across the loan lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop CRA prospects and referral contacts, including realtors, builders, and professional/personal connections.
•Complete mortgage applications using Fannie Mae form 1003 and use a laptop to access rates, credit reports, Loan Prospector responses, and transmit loans to LOMAS.
•Collect required documentation from applicants and deliver loan packages within management time frames.
•Manage the pipeline for originated loans through closing and complete required management reports.
•Provide timely updates to applicants and referral sources and attend required Consumer Lending meetings.

Key Requirements

•Maintain knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage Company policies, procedures, loan products, and underwriting/department guidelines.
•Use residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures and understand conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
•Comply with federal lending regulations governing real estate lending and support risk accountability through required practices and reporting.
•Have two years of mortgage sales experience and an established local book of business to drive mortgage loan sales and cross-selling.
•Conduct applicant intake (Fannie Mae form 1003) and manage documentation and loan packages within management time frames.
