Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead, develop, and mentor packaging specification writers and/or engineers, including setting priorities and ensuring timely delivery of specification work.
  • •Own and govern packaging specification systems across the product lifecycle, ensuring accurate creation, validation, and maintenance of packaging data and templates.
  • •Serve as subject matter expert for customer specification portals and lead data readiness for EPR and other regulatory reporting programs.
  • •Apply packaging engineering principles to ensure specifications support functional, manufacturable, and cost-effective designs; provide leadership across development from concept to commercialization.
  • •Collaborate cross-functionally (FSQA, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Sourcing, Sustainability) to align specification data with business needs and support audit readiness.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering (or related field) plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • •2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership.
  • •Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and testing.
  • •Experience with packaging specification and data systems (e.g., Specright, SAP, PMDM).
  • •Familiarity with customer and regulatory systems (e.g., e-halo, CAA, EPR reporting) and sustainability reporting requirements.
