Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver land ownership information by researching land registry records, Ordnance Survey maps, and relevant databases.
  • •Undertake land referencing activities including Land Registry and Property Registration authority research, desktop research, questionnaire analysis, archival investigations, and landowner liaison.
  • •Identify legal land interests and rights, manage data within databases and GIS systems, and support negotiation of access for survey purposes.
  • •Support acquisition of appropriate land rights for large-scale developments and prepare supporting documentation for negotiating Heads of Terms.
  • •Manage technical delivery of land referencing projects, oversee planning/execution, collaborate on geospatial analytics and data engineering deliverables, and lead team performance/review quality.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in geography/planning or a relevant discipline.
  • •Postgraduate qualification in Geography/Remote Sensing/Planning (or relevant subject).
  • •More than 15 years’ technical experience with land-related stakeholder engagement and land ownership analysis (spatial).
  • •Knowledge of the land and property industry and the land referencing/land acquisition lifecycle, including UK statutory mechanisms (e.g., CPO, DCO, TWAO, Hybrid Bill).
  • •Proficiency with GIS platforms (e.g., ESRI, ArcGIS) and data management systems, plus strong report-writing and analytical skills.
