Job Summary

Lead Whatnot’s public policy and government engagement strategy across the EU and UK. Key Responsibilities

•Lead advocacy across the EU and UK and establish Whatnot as an authoritative voice on live shopping and marketplace platforms.
•Build and maintain trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, government officials, and relevant third parties.
•Monitor and interpret EU and UK policy and regulatory developments and assess impact on product, operations, and sellers.
•Advise senior leadership on implications of key proposals and provide clear recommendations framing trade-offs.
•Manage and coordinate external consultants and advisors in Brussels, London, and key European markets to ensure alignment on priorities and messaging.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of public policy or government affairs experience with or in European institutions and national governments.
•Strong policy judgment and subject-matter fluency to determine where regulatory risk is material and when to engage.
•Experience building and sustaining trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, industry groups, and civil society.
•Clear written and oral communication skills, including the ability to read subtext in complex policy debates.
•Ability to move from defining strategy to executing it, partnering closely with Legal, Product, Comms, and external consultants.
