Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Practice according to the regulator Scope of Practice, completing competencies and clinical privileging before providing direct patient care.
  • •Provide safe and evidence-based midwifery care during antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and newborn periods, including monitoring labour progress with CTG and escalating when needed.
  • •Provide post-delivery care for mother and newborn, including assessments, cord blood gases, newborn identification, vital sign monitoring, and escalation to the appropriate clinician.
  • •Assess patient needs, analyze assessment data, determine midwifery diagnoses/issues, and create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team.
  • •Administer medications and treatments as appropriate, maintain essential life support, provide education and emotional support, coordinate admission/transfer/discharge, and comply with regulatory and NMC policy requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority, with the required qualifications and experience.
  • •Manage your own professional re-licensure.
  • •Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
  • •Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
  • •Communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).
