Job Summary

Lead end-to-end design for an AI-agent-powered provider onboarding experience, replacing Headway’s multi-page credentialing flow with intelligent, conversational intake. Own the onboarding pod’s biggest conversion lever by partnering with PM and Engineering to define agentic interaction patterns, trust signals, and automation boundaries. Prototype with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and MagicPatterns, run research with providers, and evolve Headway’s design system and onboarding vision at scale.

Key Responsibilities

•Own end-to-end provider onboarding design from lead form submission through credentialing to first appointment, partnering with PM and Engineering.
•Design AI-agent-powered intake flows that replace manual, multi-page credentialing forms.
•Scale the self-serve onboarding vision beyond v2, enabling providers to go from interest to credentialed with minimal human intervention.
•Start in planning mode using Claude.ai, and prototype flows and information architectures with Claude Code/Cursor/MagicPatterns.
•Conduct research with providers to validate solutions and understand where automation helps vs. hinders.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 212,000 - 265,000 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years of product design experience, with significant work on onboarding, activation, or conversion-focused products.
•Shipped measurable conversion improvements and can diagnose funnel drop-off.
•Systems thinking across onboarding forms and downstream pipeline (e.g., CAQH, NPI, payer credentialing, provider activation).
•Experience designing agentic or AI-powered workflows (conversational flows and intelligent automation, not just chatbots).
•Comfort using AI prototyping tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and MagicPatterns as a core part of your workflow.
