Job Summary

Provide onsite engineering support for aircraft engine teardown, inspection, and rebuild activities for the MSEN Mechanical Systems, External, Nacelles team. Resolve complex design issues, develop and implement design solutions using engineering standard work, and represent design engineering on Component Integrated Product Teams. Evaluate serviceability from teardown findings, document engineering decisions, and deliver technical recommendations. Expand structural analysis expertise and support improvements throughout depot operations.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide onsite engineering support for engine teardown, inspection, and rebuild activities by evaluating hardware conditions and delivering timely technical guidance to depot operations.
•Develop and implement design solutions by applying engineering standard work and collaborating with cross-functional engineering disciplines to support product improvements.
•Serve as the design engineering representative on Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), balancing durability, performance, manufacturability, cost, and weight requirements.
•Evaluate serviceability of MSEN engine hardware by reviewing teardown inspection findings, determining component dispositions, documenting engineering decisions, and presenting recommendations.
•Support structural analysis and component design improvements by applying analytical methods and collaborating with experienced analysts.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Engineering with 3 years; relevant experience in engineering design and/or analysis.
•Experience resolving engineering design and/or analysis challenges related to physical systems.
•Aerospace industry experience with a strong preference for turbofan engine design, development, or sustainment.
•Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Teamcenter, and experience with Siemens NX or comparable 3D CAD for mechanical design.
•Familiarity with structural analysis tools such as Ansys, and interest in applying analytical methods to support engineering design decisions.
