Job Summary

Design and integrate solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) systems for utility-scale and distributed renewable energy projects. Work with project teams to build electrical engineering schedules and budgets, produce layouts, calculations, energy modeling, and one-line/network diagrams, and develop specifications and cost/payback evaluations. Support projects across the full lifecycle from feasibility through commissioning, while occasionally traveling to present at meetings.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform electrical engineering design work on assigned projects under guidance from senior staff.
•Collaborate with Project Engineer and Project Manager to develop electrical engineering design schedules and budgets.
•Lead solar PV and BESS system design and related engineering calculations, including power distribution and utility interconnections.
•Develop construction and equipment specifications and support engineering development for construction drawing packages (e.g., one lines, network diagrams).
•Support projects through feasibility, design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning, including presenting at meetings with occasional travel.

Key Requirements

•BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or an engineering-related discipline plus 4 years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
•Demonstrated experience designing and integrating utility-scale renewable and battery storage systems.
•Demonstrated experience with solar PV and BESS system design, including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections.
•Preferred: Professional engineering license (PE) and ability to attain additional states by comity.
•Preferred: Proficiency with industry software such as Homer, NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope.
