Job Summary

Install, test, document, and maintain inside-plant cabling infrastructure—conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, and fiber—supporting DISA J6 ETM-NG operations at the Pentagon, Mark Center, and nearby NCR government buildings. Perform move/add/change work for copper cabling, VOIP, and fiber networks; troubleshoot outages and trouble calls; interpret schematics; and use network cabling test equipment (including copper testers and fiber OTDR/power meters) while following required DISA standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Install and document new and/or updated inside-plant cable infrastructure including conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, and fiber.
•Perform move/add/change activities for copper cabling, VOIP networks, and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
•Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems and verify work order information and equipment receipt.
•Test, locate, and repair cabling associated with trouble calls; verify service by testing installed cabling and correcting or escalating problems.
•Document network by labeling/routing equipment and cables, recording configuration diagrams and specifications, and maintain networks by troubleshooting outages and updating documentation.

Travel: High travel

Key Requirements

•Associate’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience (or 2 additional years of related technical experience in lieu of degree).
•Active Top Secret security clearance required.
•Familiarity with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
•Ability to communicate effectively with personnel, provide customer support in a high-visibility environment, and maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.
•Ability to work with power tools and ladders and be computer literate with basic networking skills.
