Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee and assist client management and marketing for select Financial Sponsor clients, including C-suite relationship management for some clients.
  • •Drive origination and support execution across multiple transactions, coordinating client interface across SMBC.
  • •Own and assist coverage processes including account planning, portfolio tracking, marketing, data capture, budgeting, pipeline, and global coordination.
  • •Provide Front Office guidance and opinion on key pricing, credit, and structuring decisions as required.
  • •Optimize management of loan book commercial and risk performance for assigned Financial Sponsor portfolios and support development of junior team members.

Key Requirements

  • •Long-standing knowledge and experience covering Financial Sponsor clients and transactions, notably LBOs, M&A, and ECM.
  • •In-depth knowledge and experience with associated Financial Sponsor products such as NAV financing, subscription financing, securitisation, Structured Finance, Infrastructure and Project Finance, Real Estate, and Hedging/Derivatives (preferred).
  • •Ability to communicate and influence senior internal and client stakeholders, including senior Financial Sponsor partners.
  • •Degree-level education and higher-level financial qualifications (e.g., accountancy or CFA) are preferred.
  • •Ability to support and develop junior team members.
