Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide overall operational management and responsibility for an operational shift.
  • •Supervise and direct personnel to conduct required work activities safely, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner.
  • •Ensure safety and environmental programs are emphasized and that regulatory compliance is maintained.
  • •Assign work, hold employees accountable, and provide regular performance feedback to support development and continuous improvement.
  • •Coordinate unit operations and maintenance, communicate with dispatching/maintenance/other organizations, and coordinate emergency response efforts.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline combined with 4 years of operations experience at a utility-level power plant.
  • •In lieu of degree, High School Diploma combined with 8 years of operations experience at a utility-level power plant.
  • •Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • •Experience leading/supervising power plant employees, including bargaining unit employees.
  • •City of Houston First Grade Stationary Engineers License (or commit to achieve within 12 months).
