Key Responsibilities

•Build, debug, test, repair, and upgrade computer prototypes (computers, servers, peripherals, programs, and software/firmware).
•Proficiently perform hand soldering.
•Assist engineers with evaluation, design, and testing of new electronic components.
•Document prototype construction and maintain engineering records; write procedures and technical documents.
•Manage lab operations and materials (lab management, inventory, tracking, and shipping).

Key Requirements

•Associate’s degree (or above) in Electronics, or equivalent technical school completion/combination of education and experience.
•Strong, demonstrated hand soldering skills and knowledge of circuit boards, soldering, and electronics.
•Ability to diagnose the root cause of computer system failures and isolate failing components/nodes.
•Ability to use custom Linux and Windows-based diagnostic/test programs to run benchmarks and tests.
•Fundamental understanding of computer architecture and components (e.g., CPU, power supply, memory, graphics cards, flash memory).
